My Cape Cod roots and life transitions

I grew up on Cape Cod and am the third generation to be living in my family home in Chatham. We grew up treasuring the possessions passed down from each family member, but after many years, the accumulation became overwhelming.  It was not just the family artifacts; it was also duplicate household items from family transitions, my own tendency to over-collect and the unending inflow of paperwork and documents we all experience.

I learned to put order to the clutter, curate well-loved pieces of family history anduse local Cape community services and vendors to help repurpose and offload belongings.

I learned sustainable habits and strategies to continually right-size possessions and manage critical paperwork.

I learned to manage the stuff of life.

And now, I want to help you reduce your areas of clutter and develop the skills to stay organized on a continuing basis, especially through your own life transitions.

My work as a professional organizer

I am a member of the National Association of Productivity and Organization Professionals (NAPO), the professional organization for productivity and organizing consultants.  I have completed extensive coursework through NAPO and am currently pursuing certification as a life transition specialist. I am insured, provide fully confidential services, and as a NAPO member, am bound by NAPO’s stringent Code of Ethics.

My area of focus is helping clients in life transitions. Adult children moving out…or back home. Downsizing your household, or bringing a partner or parent into your home. Losing a parent. Retiring or starting a home business. Helping a loved one adjust to illness or disability. All these life events and changes may call for residential re-organization, decluttering and systematizing. I also work with clients on projects that are less about transitions and more about improving their current situation: helping declutter a garage, organize family memorabilia or develop paper management systems for their home office.
